Stop and smell.......

As I grow older I find it harder to find people who stop to enjoy the beauty God has surrounded us with. I also noticed many are so busy they don't find things that bring them joy. But I think the more the world becomes fast pace and out of control, that some people are searching for a peace and understanding of what is happening around us. Many are going back to their roots and looking at the basic things that have been around for centuries and that is nature and gardening. My boyfriend and I love to work in the yard and we enjoy relaxing in the rewards of our hard work and the nature that is around us. Below are some pictures from our back yard, where we grow all types of flowers, plants and even have a vegetable garden with tomatoes, peppers and herbs. We also have many of Gods small creatures like rabbits, birds, squirrels and more.... (possums, raccoons, etc.) that we don't mind sharing the space with. I have also put a poem that my boyfriend's mother shared with me that shows the parallels between life and gardening. Enjoy.

The heart is a garden

Where thought flowers grow

The thoughts that we think
Are the seeds that we sow

Every kind loving thought

Bears a kind loving seed

While the thought that is selfish

Is just like a weed

We must watch what we think

Each minute all day

And pull out the weed thoughts

And throw them away

And plant loving seed thoughts

So thick in a row

That there not be room

For weed thoughts to grow

(Bonnie thank you for sharing)
